Liberal Malay vs Perkasa Malay

By  Akhbar Khan
How do we interpret liberal Malay?  I am not sure myself, but from reading articles written by these self-referred liberal Malays and from my own experience mingling with them, I would describe them as:
“Malays or half-Malay (as in mix-marriage) who thought of themselves as better than other Malays because they hold top positions in private, corporate or GLC companies.  They consider English as their first language and proud that they are not very fluent in the own mother tongue.  They seldom mix around with ‘ordinary’ (Perkasa)  Malays and would avoid doing so.   They are also proud of their ignorance of Malay culture and traditions.   These liberal Malays often mix only with Chinese, Indians, Mat Sallehs and Malays of their own type.”
Liberal Malays, in their very limited experience and exposure, believe that these ‘traits’ are what make them better Malays.
What they choose to overlook is how their Chinese and Indian friends are very protective and very much proud of their language, culture and tradition.  The love of their roots reflects a better worth of their race, thus what make them better persons/race.  Liberal Malays are all but contradiction of these values thus, not at all better persons but persons that worth nothing.
In their defend, these liberal Malays would judged Perkasa Malays as narrow-minded, lazy, rent-seeking or subsidy-minded to justify their ‘shame’ of calling themselves as ‘ordinary’ Malays.   This portrays a serious narrow-mindedness of the liberal Malays as smart, wise people would know when to keep an open mind when referring to one’s race, especially their own.
Not all Malays are lazy, rent-seeking and subsidy-minded, just like not all Chinese are kiasu, chauvinist and racist or all Jews are rude, mean terrorists.
Malaysia, is a living proof of ordinary Malays credibility.  Malaysia may not be a stable and competitive country should the ordinary-Malay-led politics are as bad as the liberal Malays described.  In fact, Malaysia and the Malaysian Chinese economy may not prosper should our ordinary Malay-led government are that stupid, corrupt and lazy.
Without the wisdom of the ordinary Malay-led government, there might not be any government universities, scholarships or even a dream that Malaysia would achieve what it achieves today.    And these liberal Malays might not even know the word ‘liberal’ at all.  If the Malay-led government is so incapable, the Malays, Chinese and Indians in Malaysia might not be able to live well, what more luxuriously.  We owe this much to our Malay-led government, and may I remind you, that they are ‘normal’, ‘ordinary’ Malays and NOT liberal Malays.
Of all the people, the liberal Malays who claim that they are better and smarter, should know that it is very rare for a young country like Malaysia to be able to stand this strong what more be where it is today.
Liberal Malays, though may be excellent in academic and their fields, but that’s about all they know.   Without a big heart and an open mind, an educated man can be as stupid as someone who never step a foot in school.
Petronas, Proton, Khazanah and Sime Darby are a few of the evidence of ‘ordinary’ Malays credibility and competitiveness.   And guess who are shaking these pillars of our national assets?  The stupid, corrupt idiots who call themselves Liberal Malays!  They gobbled up all the benefit they got from the ‘Malay rights’ through these companies including Jawala Corporation and are now shamelessly calling other ordinary Malays as subsidy-minded, corrupt and lazy.
Protecting our Malay rights is just as noble and as sacred as the Chinese and Indians protecting their culture and their language, because without these rights, we would have lost everything, thanks to liberal Malays who despise your own language, culture and tradition.
In fact, the liberal Malays has no right to talk about equality as they themselves already discriminate and think of ordinary Malays as unequal to them.
We would have seen more ordinary Malays holding top posts in private companies through fair competition should there be no discrimination in private sectors owned by non-Malays.
If equality ever existed in private sectors and in the minds of the liberal Malays and non-Malays, then, we wouldn’t have to endure with stupid, lazy, unethical Chinese Managers/Executives/Secretaries who can’t even speak Malay or English fluently and can’t even do their job properly.   Oh yes, there are a lot of these type of Chinese in the private sectors who got to their positions only because they are Chinese.
And if equality ever truly existed in private sectors, the Perkasa Malays wouldn’t have to fiercely defend our Malay rights anymore, do they?
